About the Event
When people talk about where a wine is from, it usually stops at red, white, or maybe “cool” versus “warm climate”. But in reality, that only scratches the surface. Climate plays a huge role in shaping the final wine, from acidity and alcohol levels to texture, aromatics and structure. It’s one of the most important building blocks in understanding why wines taste the way they do.
In this masterclass, we’ll be tasting through a selection of wines from cooler regions, including reds, whites and sparkling wines. The focus will be on unpacking what “cool climate” actually means in practice, and how it shows up in the glass. We’ll look at why these wines tend to show more freshness, precision and tension, and how that translates into both style and food pairing.
The aim is simple: to take something that is often spoken about in broad terms and break it down…
